Construction Requirement of Powder Coating for Extruded Alumi

　　As one of the six surface treatment methods (Interested readers can click Surface Treatment for Aluminum Extrusion for reference) for extruded aluminum, powder coating boasts environmental film, high efficiency, convenient operation and long service life. Painting powder with negative charge is sent by compressed air into a strong static electric field where the powder gets attached to the surface of extruded aluminum and forms a even layer. The layer becomes a hard and weather resistant film after being heat treated. Although explained by only several lines, the process proves not to be simple as it seems.

　　Powder coating for extruded aluminum must follow strict construction requirements. Before being coated the surface of aluminum profile should be cleaned thoroughly. Workers should fill depressions with electric putty to keep the surface smooth and even. During the coating process aluminum profiles should be placed on the floor to guarantee that the largest possible area will be coated. Workers must check the surface of extruded aluminum and make up for any possible flaws immediately after the coating process. The finished coated layer should be heated for solidification, the process of which depends on technical instruction of coated painting powders. Sufficient temperature and time for solidification must be guaranteed to avoid quality accident. In case flaws of small area found after solidification step on the surface of extruded aluminum, workers can make up for the depression with same-colored powder diluted by acetone. If, however, the depression or uneven area is too large to make up, the solidified layer of powder has to be removed and re-coated. Besides, all coating devices must be cleanly completely after being used every time to avoid color mixture of different powders.
